1 ice cube per carpet dent
White paper towels or colorfast cloth (optional)

Steps

Move your furniture to uncover carpet dents. [1]
Drop 1 ice cube in each dent. Large or long dents may require multiple ice cubes.
Let the ice cubes melt. As they melt, the nap of the carpet will begin to fluff back up, reducing (and eventually removing) the dent.
Check the results the next morning. If necessary, blot up excess water with white paper towel or colorfast cloth.
If the nap hasn't recovered completely, use a fork to gently lift remaining carpet fibers.
Repeat for persistent dents.
